Alderman William George Bean founded Pleasure Beach, Blackpool in 1896 and bought the forty two acre site on which the Pleasure Beach now stands. Various rides, including the still popular Sir Hiram Maxim Flying Machines, were introduced to the area. The First World War curtailed further development of the site until 1921 when it became possible to import new rides from the USA.

Jean and Les welcome you to the Clarisa Holiday Apartments where every
effort is made to ensure that your stay with us is as enjoyable and carefree as you would like it to
be.
We are in an ideal position to visit all Blackpool's attractions. You will find us only one
street off of the promenade, between Central and South Pier.
All our apartments are spotlessly
clean, furnished and equipped to a very high standard. They all consist of a spacious lounge with quality
furnishings, colour television and video with tapes for your use. They have a fully fitted and equipped
breakfast kitchen with fridge, gas cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster. Each has separate bedrooms to
suite couples or families. Bed linen and towels are provided. All apartments have separate shower units and
toilets.
